Hello! Kamusta? I am Aya, a passionate development worker from the Philippines. I acquired a BA in International Studies and a MA in Public Administration. Earlier on, I was immersed in several international youth exchange programs both as a student and as a Philippine Youth Ambassador of Goodwill.

Workwise, I have been involved with the Philippine government championing communities/cities and doing research to address the country’s development issues. These experiences gave me a front-row seat to governance, social welfare, policy research, community development and civil servants training. Apart from that, I have exposure in digital marketing, events management and motivational speaking. I also spearheaded a relief initiative in the Philippines called “Uffun Ta Tuguegarao”.

On a personal note, I spend quite a lot of time in self-reflection and reading inspirational books. One of my personal advocacies is “positive thinking”.

I love to travel and go outdoors, listen to good music, workout and hang out with easy-going peeps. I am always up for an adventure, a good challenge, or try something new.

I live by this quote: “life is a one time offer, make it count.” I am for empowerment, education and enlightenment.

GLOCAL is a perfect fit for me amalgamating my interest in creative cities, entrepreneurship and development. Most of all, I get to meet interesting people and live in Glasgow-Barcelona-Gottingen, a perfect mix of creative cities with diverse cultures, which I love! ❤️
